About RitAI

An AI-powered health assistant for patients and caregivers.

In 2024, I lost my mother, Rita, to a rare genetic condition called Caroli Disease. For 17 years, her condition was treated as a standard case of polycystic kidney disease. While PKD is an effect of Caroli, the underlying rare disease remained hidden. By the time we uncovered the full diagnosis in 2022, it was too late.

Going through that journey taught me how difficult it is to track rare symptoms and make sense of complex medical paperwork. To honor her legacy, I built RitAI.

Named after my mom, RitAI is an AI-powered assistant designed to help patients and caregivers synthesize medical information. Unlike a standard search bar, you can upload medical reports, PDFs, and diagnostic images directly to the tool. It provides:

    • Confidence scores for transparency on the information provided.
    • Urgency levels to help prioritize next steps.
    • Document synthesis — a way to turn dense medical files into organized, actionable insights.

While RitAI provides data-driven insights, it is not a substitute for clinical judgment. Its purpose is to turn online searching into appointment prepping, giving patients the confidence and the vocabulary to better advocate for their health alongside their doctors.

Rita's journey was defined by a search for answers. RitAI is my way of making sure those answers are within reach for everyone else.
